Reflexology is a Holistic Healing Art that stimulates and balances reflex points in the feet that correspond to all the glands, organs and skeletal parts of the body. Reflexology is fairly new to North America but is getting more popular as an alternative treatment to relaxation massage.
A Reflexology session is a pleasant and relaxing experience and for people who enjoy food massage it can be total bliss. The Reflexologist starts by warming up the feet and increasing blood flow using massage techniques, then work begins on each of the body systems beginning with the Lymphatic System. Stimulation of the Lymph drainage points stimulates lymph fluid movement and assists the body in removing toxins through the elimination organs. For a period of 24-48 hours after a Reflexology session, additional water should be consumed to help flush the toxins that are being released.
The next system to be worked is the Respiratory system, including the lungs and trachea. Next is the Skeletal system including the spine, hips, knees, sciatica and other major joints. Once the Skeletal reflexes have been stimulated and balanced, we move on to the Urinary system including the bladder, kidneys and ureta, then it’s time for the digestive system including the acending/decending colon, stomach, liver etc…
The next system to be worked is the Nervous system which is located a the tips of the toes, this system is worked using gentle circular motions that sends waves of relaxation through the nervous system reflexes.

The Endrocrine system is next and includes major glands that control various levels of hormones in the body, these glands include the Thymus, Thyroid, Parathyroid, Adrenals, Penial and more… Finally the Reproductive system is worked and balanced before finishing with a relaxing reflexology food massage.
People who experience Reflexology on a regular basis tend to find themselves more calm and relaxed and enjoy a sense of increased well being. For those who suffer from Diabetes or Plantars Fasciitis seem to get significant benefits from Reflexology and the increased circulation is provides.
